Representing Hermanus Yacht Club, we welcome an exciting, well-rounded team led by Calvin Gibbs and Markus Progli.
Helming is Calvin Gibbs. Calvin crewed with the winning team at the 2024 Lipton Challenge Cup. From the Youth Match Racing World Champs to gold at the FarEast 28 Worlds, Calvin has spent the past decade collecting titles across dinghy, keelboat, and offshore racing.
Markus Progli brings world-class experience and leadership to the team, having competed in 8 Lipton Cups (including a victory), and represented South Africa internationally, most recently racing with the Cape31 Nitro crew.
The youngsters onboard are dynamic 29er sailing duo, Scarlet Celliers and James Rae, these two have sailed as a team for many years. It will be their Lipton debut.
This tight-knit team balances experienced hands with new energy —Hermanus Yacht Club will no-doubt be a serious contender on the start line.
