Lüderitz Yacht Club has officially entered the 2026 Lipton Challenge, travelling from Namibia to compete in this historic event for the first time together.
Leading the campaign is skipper Nikolai Allers, whose decades of sailing experience include an international Fireball racing career and a lifetime dedicated to the sport. Joining him are his sons, Pascal and Florian, making this a unique family campaign.
For the Allers family, the 2026 Lipton Challenge represents more than just another event. It is the continuation of a proud sailing legacy spanning three generations, from the late Rudi Allers’ contribution to Fireball sailing in Namibia to Nikolai now sharing the racecourse with his sons.
With decades of experience, family teamwork and a shared passion for sailing, Lüderitz Yacht Club will be a welcome addition to this year’s fleet.
