Knysna Yacht Club has officially entered the 2026 Lipton Challenge, with a formidable team led by co-skippers Greg Davis and helm Georgeou “Yogi” Divaris.
A true Lipton Challenge veteran, Davis brings an extraordinary sailing résumé that includes 14 Lipton Challenge victories, two of them representing Knysna Yacht Club, more than 180,000 offshore miles, and a campaign in the Whitbread Round the World Race. He is joined by Divaris, one of South Africa’s most accomplished young sailors, whose career includes multiple national titles, representing South Africa internationally from Optimist through to ILCA competition, and back-to-back Finn National Championships in 2025 and 2026.
The team is further strengthened by Paul Allardice, whose sailing career spans decades, and a Lipton Challenge victory in 2019.
With a crew boasting results like this, Knysna Yacht Club will once again be among the teams to watch when racing gets underway on Table Bay.
