The RCYC Lipton Trustees have decided that it would be consistent with Sir Thomas’s intentions, when donating the Lipton Challenge Cup to the Table Bay Yacht Club in 1909, if recognised sailing academies and sailing schools be allowed to challenge for the Cup in their own right.
Such entities will, at the sole discretion of the Trustees, qualify for this concession on a case-by-case basis.
