The last time the Saldanha Bay Yacht Club competed in the Lipton Challenge Cup was in 2015 when it was still sailed in L26 class yachts.
Morgan Evans and his wife own a Pacer 27 and have decided to challenge for the Lipton Cup this year. It has been difficult drawing information on their challenge out of Evans as things appear to be pretty fluid at the moment. But he did warn me that “things may change” – so we will all have to wait and see if and when they do!
What we do know is that the boat will be named ‘Ullman Racing’, and will sail with a complete wardrobe of Ullman sails.
Matthew Breedt and Ullman Sails marketing member of staff, Allyssa van Rensburg, will be part of Evans crew, with the rest of the crew still to be announced.
The team so far are prepping the boat in earnest to have it in tip-top shape for the challenge.
